Proper Sizing for Skate Boots |

TO MEASURE LENGTH:1. Get an old fashioned wooden or metal ruler and put the short end against a stair tread. 2. Sit on the stair above with your heel against the back of the stair tread and your foot on the ruler. 3. Note the length of the longest part of your foot (for some of us, it’s the second toe), then STAND and see if the length changes. Go with the longer length. 4. Do this for each foot and write it down. TO MEASURE WIDTH:1. Using a sewing tape measure (flexible plastic or cloth), wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your foot. This is usually the ball of the foot on the inside, and the wide part under the pinky toe on the outside of the foot. 2. The tape measure may be at an angle. That is ok. Do this while sitting and then stand up and put weight on the foot, as it may spread once weight is upon it. 3. Write down this measurement per foot as well. TO DETERMINE SIZE:1. Check these measurements against this chart to see what size in MEN’s boots you end up as. 2. As a general rule- a woman goes down roughly 1 ½ to 2 sizes from her street shoes to snug fitting boots. 3. Every boot is different, so please check the sizing recommendations for each type of boot to ensure you are getting the right size in the boot you choose. 4. Keep in mind the best way to tell is to find someone with the boot you want in the size you think you are, and ask them to let you try them. There simply is no substitute for trying on stuff.
ANTIK SKATE BOOTS
Antik boots run larger than standard Riedell boots, and sizing needs to compensate for this variance. Do not assume that your size is the same as your regular street shoes. Just as with most high-end skate boots, Antiks come standard in men's sizes. However, the specific size may vary from a standard shoe measurement. All Antik boots are made in the D/B split-last with a wider D in the toe box and a more narrow B width in the heel for a firm, secure fit. Special orders are available for other widths. It is generally recommended to go for a more snug fit for playing derby. Keep in mind that leather boots will stretch and form to your foot over time. Antik AR1 boots also offer heat-molding capabilities in the toe box and around the sides for an even more secure fit. We generally recommend going down a half to full size down in Antik boots from your standard Riedell measurement.
